She received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law and a Master of International Business Studies Degree (Portugese track) from the Darla Moore School of Business in 2000. She joined Bluestein & Nichols, LLC in 2000, and became a partner in 2007. Stacy practices exclusively in the area of Social Security Disability. Stacy is a sustaining member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant’s Representatives (NOSSCR) and been a member of the NOSSCR Board representing the Fourth South Carolina Association for Justice, the American Association for Justice, the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association, the South Carolina Bar Association, and the Richland County Bar Association. Stacy volunteers with the South Carolina Pro Bono program and frequently participates as a judge for the Middle School, High School and College Mock Trial competitions. She is a graduate of the SC Bar Leadership Academy (2010) and Leadership SC (2013 class) and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Leadership SC. Stacy is chair of the Social Security Disability section of the South Carolina Association for Justice (formerly South Carolina Trial Lawyers) and is a member of the SC Bar Publications Committee, Pro Bono Committee and serves on the Solo/Small Firm Council. She has been a speaker at numerous seminars regarding social security disability throughout the state, including the South Carolina Association for Justice Annual Conference (2007 – 2015), and has organized and moderated social security seminars for the South Carolina Bar Associationn (2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012). Stacy has been a speaker at the NOSSCR conferences (2011–2013) in the areas of general practice tips, initial interviews, case development and dealing with the electronic file and has been the feature speaker on national teleconferences in various areas of initial case development. Stacy has authored one publication, Social Security Disability Cases in South Carolina: Basic Case Evaluation and Management (SC Bar 2006, 2nd edition 2010, 3rd edition 2016) and coauthored another, Handling a Social Security Disability Case (National Business Institute). Stacy is an active member of the Junior League of Columbia, where she served as Vice-President for Community and has chaired the Refugee Outreach Committee and Community Outreach. In 2012, she was the recipient of the Katharine Heath Manning Perry award, which recognizes a member who has excelled in community voluntarism and activism through her JLC placements and through extensions of her JLC work and training. Stacy previously served as Board President of Able South Carolina, a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of independent living for individuals with disabilities and as President of the Board of the Palmetto Mastersingers. In 2014 she joined the board of Special Olympics of South Carolina and has completed the United Way’s Blueprint for Leadership program. She is a member of the USC Association of Letterman (Volleyball), a passionate Gamecock and proud mom of several rescue pets.
