About J.L.Lord
As the lead instructor for option education companies like Random Walk, Optionetics and TradeSecrets, Scott has been teaching stock and options strategies since 1997. Using the nom de plume (pen name) “J.L. Lord,” he has authored over a dozen textbooks and manuals including: Stock, Options and Collars, One Strategy for all Markets (Broken Wing Butterfly), Essentials, Stratagem, 50/50 Manual, and Option Greeks for Profit.
Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities (2007) cited the J.L. Lord collection of option trading books as instructional manuals that “changes the way we think.” Writer Jonathon Brubaker commented that it wouldn’t be surprising to see the series “gain recognition as the bibles of option trading as their content becomes synonymous with expert trading techniques that have not been exposed to retail public.”
Scott has been teaching and mentoring students with his Wednesday night classes on Option Trading for several years now, and has spoken in front of groups as large as 2,000 people on a range of topics from basic to advance stock and option strategies. Starting his career on the trading floor in 1986, he has seen every type of market condition from the 1987 Crash to the Tech Bubble and the Housing Crisis. Scott spent time on all three Chicago trading floors, primarily as a former member of the Chicago Board Option Exchange (CBOE).
