Dr. Nichols  was the first woman to serve as the president of AOMA, AOA, and the American College of Osteopathic Internists. She was recently elected Vice Chair of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Board of Trustees and as Chair of the United Federation of Osteopathic Societies (UFOS), a coalition of forty smaller state societies, the District of Columbia, and the Military.
