Islamic patterns are inspired from nature and are found in books, textiles and architecture. A lot of the islamic patterns found in manuscripts and Quranas have been illuminated and adorned with real gold. This artistic practice is referred to as Islamic Illumination.

In this online Islamic illumination course, you will learn the history of Islamic illuminations and learn to paint an islamic vegetal/biomorphic pattern from the start to finish following the traditional Persian and Turkish order.

In this course you will:
Understand the elements of natural/biomorphic/vegetal Islamic patterns (referred to as Arabesque in some cases).
Prepare your paper and gold traditionally with two new exclusive videos.
Learn the classical islamic illumination painting techniques.
Trace and paint your own pattern step by step.
