When you start a new project, it’s a good idea to know where you’re going. Here’s a high-level look at how to start a podcast:

1. Choose a topic you can commit to.
2. Define your show description and artwork.
3. Set up and thoroughly test your equipment.
4. Create a plan for your episodes.
5. Record your episodes.
6. Edit and publish your episodes.
7. Launch your podcast to your audience.

That’s the 30,000 foot view of starting a podcast—the rest of this tutorial will go into extensive detail on each of these steps. My goal is to make sure that you understand both what to do and why you’re doing it.
