The Academic Writing Bootcamp is not your everyday thesis writing bootcamp.
It’s not about clearing out your weekend, taking time off from work, dropping your kids off with a sitter and binge-writing until your back hurts.

Dora Farkas, PhD – Academic Writing Bootcamp

How many times have you told yourself
“I will start writing when I am ready”?
I get it.
I was terrified of writing my thesis because I always felt like I didn’t have the time or I didn’t know enough to start writing.
Perhaps, you have also asked yourself questions such as:
Where do I start? Is this good enough for a thesis? There is so much to do, will I ever finish?
And maybe you started writing, but after a few days you were filled with self-doubt and guilt, wondering why your thesis is taking so long.
Or worse, you were wondering if you would ever finish your thesis.
The worst part is that you know that you have it in you to get this thesis done, and create a better life for yourself and your family.
But, how do you stay motivated to keep writing, so that you can finish your thesis and graduate?

A Thesis Writing Program unlike any other…
The Academic Writing Bootcamp is not your everyday thesis writing bootcamp.
It’s not about clearing out your weekend, taking time off from work, dropping your kids off with a sitter and binge-writing until your back hurts.
The Academic Writing Bootcamp is for students with “real” everyday lives who are busy with their research, job, and families.
Nobody writes their thesis in a vacuum. (It’s not realistic, nor healthy)
If you have tried to clear off a weekend to “binge-write”, you know that your progress is limited.
At best, you get a lot of writing done, but then don’t know how to continue writing during the week (and that’s frustrating).
Or worse, you don’t get a lot of writing done and you feel guilty, wondering what went wrong (and that’s even more frustrating).
What if you could start and keep writing, without having to wait for a time when “things calm down”?
Even better, what if you could be part of a community of graduate students, just like you, who want to get their thesis DONE, and write your thesis along with them?
If you are looking for structure, accountability, and the motivation to keep writing your thesis until it is DONE you have come to the right place.

How will the Bootcamp keep you accountable so you make consistent progress?
After you enroll in the Academic Writing Bootcamp, you will get access to a weekly Personalized Writing Plan template (Module 1).
This template will help you to create your highest priority goals, break it down into manageable pieces, and schedule a time to get it done.
On the Sunday before Bootcamp Week you will share your goal(s) for the week with other students:
1) In a Daily Progress Tracker on Google Docs that only Bootcamp members have access to, and
2) In our private Facebook community (optional, if you are on Facebook).
During bootcamp week, we will have daily check-ins on Facebook to evaluate your progress and commit to actions for the next day.
The more time you can devote to writing the better, but if you can only write for 15 minutes a day, you will still make great progress during bootcamp.
I know from working with hundreds of students and personal experience that 15 minutes a day can go a long way if you plan in advance!
Before you know it, you will , at least, double your productivity and your thesis WILL come together.

What happens after the Bootcamp?
Don’t worry, I got you!
Unless you are super-close to finishing your thesis, the community and I will continue to support you to keep writing.
As you will see the Academic Writing Bootcamp is based on a weekly flow, because the days of the week are not created equal.
Think of the Academic Writing Bootcamp as your “warm-up” to your new writing routine that will help you get your thesis done.
After the Academic Writing Bootcamp, you get the opportunity to participate in 3 Bonus bootcamp weeks:
March 25- March 31
April 1 – April 8
April 9 – April 15
You can participate in all three bonus weeks, or pick the week(s) that work best for you.
The community and I will be here supporting you daily during the entire Academic Writing Bootcamp and the bonus weeks.

Bonus: 6 Live Group Coaching Sessions
To help you stay inspired and make the most progress, I will host 6 live Group coaching sessions during the weeks preceding each bootcamp week.
Enrollment is limited due to open Q&A, and spots are filled on a first-come first-served basis.
During the group coaching calls I will share with you additional tips and tools to maintain your writing momentum.
You can submit questions in advance and I will answer them (anonymously) during the calls.
We will also have open Q&A during each group coaching session so you can get live support from me and the other community members.
Group Coaching Sessions will be on Wednesdays at 1pm preceding each Bootcamp week, and the dates are February 20, 27, March 6, 20, 27 and April 3)
Group Coaching Calls will be recorded and you can submit questions in advance, and listen to the recording anytime.
