Angela Kennedy Black and Gold Mixed Medium Portraits
Some say my girls are sad, but I don’t feel that way. I love Renaissance paintings and the expressions that the artists gave them. That is a look I am drawn to when painting for myself.

Angela Kennedy – Black and Gold Mixed Medium Portraits
I was born and raised in Southern Oregon. I grew up with a family who loved doing arts and crafts. Most of my family Is artistic in some way. My Mom loved oil painting and got me in to some classes when I was about 12. My Grandmother also had a ceramic shop where we spent a lot of time learning to pour and cast molds, paint and fire. I really miss that!
In 2002, I started working for Penny Black Rubber Stamps making display boards and eventually became one of their designers. In 2007 I discovered a mixed media and was instantly hooked! I loved that I didn’t have to use just acrylics or just watercolor. I started painting and sketching every day, mixing my supplies. I made hundreds of small art pieces until I finally fell in to my style, which is often described as whimsical. Some say my girls are sad, but I don’t feel that way. I love Renaissance paintings and the expressions that the artists gave them. That is a look I am drawn to when painting for myself.
I started teaching online art classes in 2010 and enjoy sharing my process and helping others grow as artist. I genuinely love being part of an online art community. I get the opportunity to inspire others, and to be inspired by other artists everyday.
