He is currently a physician with the Barnes-Jewish Christian Medical Group.Dr. Schwarze graduated from the AT Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCOM) in Kirksville, Missouri, in 1973. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Normandy Osteopathic Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.  He then attended the fellowship program in Cardiology at St. Louis University Hospital, where he continued to teach echocardiology part-time for 15 years. Upon completing his fellowship, Dr.Schwarze established a private practice, which existed for 32 years.  His group is now part of the BJC Medical Group in the Metropolitan St. Louis area. Dr. Schwarze is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine.Dr. Schwarze has researched echocardiology, congestive heart failure, and lipid therapy, which has resulted in several publications in these areas. He has spoken at numerous national programs and has been the program chairman of many educational symposia in cardiology. Dr. Schwarze has received four “Educator of the Year” awards and is a Master Fellow in the American College of Osteopathic Internists and a Fellow in the American College of Cardiology. He is also the past President of the St. Louis Chapter of the American Heart Association.
